600 Gallons of Milk Donated!

Today Project Starfish Haiti confirmed the donation of 12,000 cartons (600 gallons) of milk to be donated to WHI for the children of Haiti. The donation has been made by Mr. Pedro Brache, CEO of Grupo Rica in the Dominican Republic. He is a member of YPO.

WHI requested that about 1/3 of the cartons for the children at the orphanage and be able to deliver the remaining cartons to other children and at-risk caregivers (mostly mothers) in the parks where WHI is working to provide essential foods and water. There are two reasons for our special request: first, malnutrition is growing and we struggle to think of holding back a large supply of wonderful milk when the situation grows so desperate; and, secondly, it is increasingly risky to store large amounts of food when so many people are desperate for it.

The WHI team from Haiti will be meeting Mr. Brache’s team at the border to accept the delivery of the donation and start distribution.
